"Whatever you've found had better be worth the view you're giving, Shank!" Katari growled as Shanku had her haunches high in the air while she dug a hole deeper and deeper.
"Mouse!" Shanku said excitedly as she continued to pelt him with pebbles and dirt clods.
"So not worth a mouse!" Katari complained.
"You could move," Shanku said and kept digging.
"You could stop!"
A horrid squealing sounded and Shanku jerked her head back to toss around a large gopher.
"That is not a mouse!" Katari exclaimed.
"Is lunch!" Shanku said with her mouth full and with another jerk had the gopher ready to be cleaned. She trotted proudly over to Katari and dropped it in his lap.
"Yay. Rat blood and dog spit. Just what I wanted," he said flatly.
"Gopher, not rat. Wolf, not dog," Shanku said cockily and wagged her tail. "Stupid gopher that dove into a shallow hole!"
Katari shook his head and began to dress the gopher for lunch.
