Katari is somewhat quiet and reserved, and prides himself on being a good friend and kind person. He dislikes drama and often tries to play peacemaker to keep surrounding relationships positive, which sometimes backfires and gets him in the middle of trouble.
He takes his role as a hunter and provider seriously, and showing respect to the land and his game is of utmost importance to him. He is becoming a decent tanner and leatherworker.

"Katari" is a surpisingly hard spelling to find. It is more commonly seen as the Arabic "Katara" meaning "From Qatar", Armenian "Katar" meaning "peak", or Mohawk "Kateri" meaning "Katherine". All are feminine. It is also a surname from India, and possibly a female Greek name meaning "pure". In short, as the male sidekick to the female main character, he's the girlfriend.
"Katar" was also the name of the faithful fairy stallion in the Indian tale The Boy who had a Moon on His Forehead and a Star on His Chin.
