Arloda's Surprise

I enjoy the teasing relationship Sigrid, Arloda, and Doane have with each other.

And Shanku's speech is now back to normal! How that was possible after being around Doane and Arloda, I'm not sure. Given their own thick accents, you'd think Shanku would've developed an even more convoluted way of speech.

Chapter Notes:
Life has been... interesting during this chapter. I've been kept so busy through parts of it, I'm not sure how it went up on time on some weeks. Okay, quite bluntly, my husband is not only threatening to kill me, but the full chain of threats is now "I am going to divorce you, have you declared an unfit mother so you never see your son again, financially ruin you, kill you, dump your body in the abandoned mines in Walker county so your family never has closure, and then kill your family". He throws things, leaves holes in the wall, he's left huge bruises on me, and he even held me up by my throat against the stove once. I tried calling the police. You know what they said? "What do you want us to do? File a police report?" Then they transferred me to a crisis hotline that hung up on me within 30 seconds. I checked the timer on the phone. I feel so alone and trapped. I don't know how to get out of this or who to turn to. All I can do is try to stay alive and keep my son safe until we can escape.
