Danæ

Another friend has been lost and laid to rest and a friend gave needed words of wisdom to encourage Shanku to go home, again, to begin seeking the answers to new questions found while on the wing.

One of the books I had to read during highschool was Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre. I found Ms. Eyre's fascination with mythological monsters fascinating, and the two that stuck out the most were the gytrash and her drawing of the naiad. Danæ is a bit of a tribute to that. The other bit of inspiration for her would be from Lev Grossman's The Magicians, and those pitch-black eyes he gave his fairies. But if I could ever get half at drawing pointy-eared things as good as Adele Lorienne, I'd be happy.
