Drowning in Paperwork
Finally got the seven forms and five payments sent off for this month. The government is too lazy to end their petty shutdown they started on December 22 and go back to work, but the rest of us still have paperwork and payments to deal with or we have penalties. I've heard a lot of contradicting "facts" about if and when our tax returns will be processed and refunds given out, but you can bet your sweet ass we'll be hit hard if we follow suit and go on strike like our glamorous role models. Maybe they'll learn to follow our example and be more timely and responsible.
First 40-hour work week of the season, and it wasn't all at the office. The medical device shipping job has a new location for me, so I've been working on that paperwork. New I9, new training, and the beginning of credentialing for the vendor login service at this location which I hear is an absolute beast to satisfy. Whatever, I still feel this company is worth it. They have been unnaturally good to me, and I don't know if it's because they're a good company, or I've been taken advantage of and treated like shit for so long that my bar is too low. I've got a long commute, but it's through beautiful low-traffic country roads and it'll give me time to listen to music again. I don't regret it.
If my Sundays are calm enough, I will try to work on JAD. I make no promises because I have a lot of real life obligations not counting being worked to death, but I would very much love to have some weekly sessions to chill to art, music, and a drink.
In the meantime, bless Pandora for custom channels. My current infatuations are "Gone Away" by The Offspring and "I Have A Right" by Sonata Arctica. Minus the talking in the middle of the second one, I don't much care for the talking.
