Always an Outsider

I recently attended a wedding, and as I looked out through all the happy people and routine church-goers, I realized it was the first time I felt somewhat relaxed in a church setting. Since I dropped out of church in 2010, I came to terms with who and what I am in a more constructive environment than the belittling and criticising church halls I'd spent time in. I'll never understand how a person can be so blinded by dogma that they can't see how they are driving people away from the thing they are supposedly trying to lead people to.

Not that I'm one of those little twerps who get off on bashing Christianity because it's the popular thing to do on the internet. I can understand and respect a person's decision to be Christian or go to church, or to generally have religion or the lack thereof in their life. I just wish those who weren't at peace with themselves wouldn't take it out on everybody else.
