Conditioner!

While Scirei is often true to her ice mage character and relentlessly nags me with cold logic, "tough love", and reminds me of the harsh realities of life (turns out she scored as a hardcore INTJ), Adeelah has been the warm voice in my head that is supportive and encouraging with a genuine love of life and experiencing it (and an ENFP). She didn't have a character design for many years, or even a definite name until here recently (or one I was comfortable sharing, anyway), and I was leery to draw her until I learned how to do parts I knew she'd have, like kinky curly hair. After that, she insisted on coming out. So, here she is! Meet Adeelah. The kind and hopeful spirit that balances out Scirei. Except they're 5'4" and 5'5"... Kind of match on the whole height thing. XD

Anywho. Now that I'm nearly 28 years old, I got curious about how to "properly" care for hair. First I had to learn the charts and lists!

  • Fine: Thinner than sewing thread.
  • Medium: Same size as sewing thread.
  • Coarse: Thicker than sewing thread.
  • Thin: A ponytail diameter under 2 inches wide when holding as much hair as possible.
  • Medium: A ponytail diameter of 2-4 inches wide when holding as much hair as possible.
  • Dense: A ponytail diameter over 4 inches wide when holding as much hair as possible.
  • Type 1: Straight
  • Type 2: Wavy
  • Type 3: Curly
  • Type 4: Kinky

And then each type number is followed by A, B, or C. Sometimes D, depending on the system. Some systems say A = Fine, B = Normal, C = Coarse, whereas in other systems it determines a tighter curl with 4C being very tight.

So it would seem I am "thin/fine", which requires low heat and washing every other day, and a decent amount of conditioner on the ends. Fine by me. I tend to wash every 2-3 days now anyway. I fully disagree with a lot of "experts" that keep harping about how I need "volumizing" goop. My hair may be thin, but it's floofy. As a teen, I looked like I was copying Bon Jovi's hair in his younger days! Another reason I doubt the credibility of these "experts" is that they all say, "Buy this $25 container of 4 oz! It's totally worth it!" I don't play that game, asshat. Make your shit affordable or die like the pauper you're trying to make of the rest of us.

Also, "co-washing" doesn't mean showering with somebody. It meast cleaning with conditioner instead of shampoo once or twice a week, because the English language isn't confusing enough.
