Part Three of Chapter Seven

Laban's honor is ruffled over Ryn's profession.

Laban stumbled out of the bushes after the guards had plenty of time to pass. Ryn came nonchalantly behind him, dusting himself off, feigning ignorance to Laban's mood.

"You selfish, pathetic, dishonorable low-life!" Laban shouted at Ryn, thoroughly enraged.

"Hey, I just saved your life, buddy. Be glad I know how to dodge those guys," Ryn shot back, jabbing a thumb in the direction of where the guards went.

"If you had tried to live the life of a decent man, you wouldn't have to know in the first place!" The indignant Laban bellowed.

"Chill, man. It's no biggie." Ryn was quite used to presitigious rants by this point. It seemed to be all Laban did. Damned jungle knight.

Laban sighed irritatedly, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Let's just leave Juinzeki and get to Kinsber." He dropped his hand, still quite angry but not saying anything. "Zendeke has long been a neutral power, I do not know what it would take to get them to rise in such a situation, but perhaps we could take safe passage through Zendeke and bypass Saryria. Let us take to Kinsber from there. Their ancestors banished this menace once, surely they can do it again."

"Yeah, sure, whatever. Just drop the formalities already," Ryn said, turning away from Laban and mounting Rasha. "So, what's in it for me?" He asked grinning. "I don't come cheap ya know."

Laban just glared at him coldly before mounting Nidef. "Come, boy." With that, he began to ride off.

"Hey, hey, hey! Who you callin' a 'boy'!? I'm older than you, ya little runt!" Ryn puffed up indignantly, and chased after the younger rider.
