Katari strode up to Shanku late one evening with his hands behind his back. "Well, Shank, I said I'd make 'em, and here they are!" Katari said proudly and then presented two fresh leather arm bracers. Shanku's eyes widened as her face lit up and she let out a small squeak when she saw them. She picked up the armour and admired it. "They don't weigh too much either, so hopefully you won't get so cut up on hunts anymore as well," Katari continued.
Shanku half-tackled him in a strong hug. "I love them! Help me get them on!" She let go and took a step back, bouncing slightly as he tied up the laces on the inner arm. Shanku held her wrists in front of her, grinning broadly. Katari smiled softly as she tested quick jabs and punches to get herself used to the feel of them.

Written for Artober.
Every time I tried to start drawing this, for a week, something would come up. "Oh, hey, four commissions due!" "Oh, hey, the repairmen are here!" "Oh, hey, we're going to pick this week to fix one small pipe on your road and have nonstop noisy machinery all day for a week!" "Oh, hey, time for the two twelve hour shifts at the hospital with five hours of sleep in between!" "Oh, hey, it's the end of tax season and the roofers are here, too!" Bloody hell, people... I didn't focus on references, improvement, or anything else with the challenge other than the prompt. I am vividly aware of the errors in this drawing. I needed a break to relax, and I took it. Also realized I hadn't drawn much of Shanku so far for Artober. Hrm.
